Red Rock Canyon State Park California

Last year we planned to take a vacation to Osaka Japan, but the pandemic hit and so that was canceled. Yellowstone was what our family decided on, and so we scheduled it for September 2020. A 15 passenger van was rented, which was just big enough to carry us, the grandparents and our luggage. So we took off on an Early Saturday Morning for a one week road trip. During that month, wildfires were raging throughout California, and the sky was hazy with smoke from the nearby fires. The first stop on our route was the Red Rock Canyon State Park California. The Red Rock Canyon features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations. It covers an area that is 27,000 acres along state highway 14 in Kern County. The park is known for its iconic sedimentary rocks that kind of resembles a melted castle.
